Yes. There are two things I have been looking forward to for a very long time (in the way of media and entertainment)--1) Season Two of Battlestar Galactica, which is without-a-doubt the best show on TV and also possibly the most important science-fiction show ever (more on this in a minute), and 2) the NEW Superman movie. Who among us has not wished for Superman's powers? I know that if I were granted a superpower, flying would definitely be at the top of my list. Being bulletproof doesn't really help me much, and I don't care to see through walls. The heat ray from my eyeballs would be cool on occasion--what other powers are there? Breathing underwater--Superman can do it. Not breathing at all (as in flying through space)--no problem. The guy can create tornado-strengh winds (as shown in Superman II by Zod and company), he can fly around the world so fast that it spins in reverse (see the original Superman)--who wouldn't want that?
I am especially excited to see that Bryan Singer is running the project. Most movies completely suck once they enter sequel land (see Superman III, IV, V, Star Wars Episodes I, II, III, Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions--I was really sad about this in particular), with few exceptions, and I think that I'm most excited about the "reimagining" of the back story, along with what promises to be a great new dilemma for Superman to deal with. I'm sure that the special effects will be fantastic, the casting is amazing (e.g. Kevin Spacey is playing Lex Luthor)...
I broke my arm as a child when Marc Zollicoffer and I tried to play Superman and launch off of a woodpile. I can't wait for this movie.
