Browncoats UNITE

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of being a clinician and performer at the University of Central Arkansas Percussion Festival, hosted by my best friend Dr. Blake Tyson (whose blog you may visit by looking at the links on the right). There are lots of cool pictures from the festival, and I had an absolute blast. In addition to all of the above, I was also introduced to something that has changed the world as I know it--Firefly the series, and of course, the movie that the fans "made" along with the cast and Joss Whedon. Let's put it this way--I am a Battlestar Galactica TNS nut and follow it religiously, and now I have found a way to deal with the time between the end of Season 2 and the beginning of Season 3 (in October)...watch Firefly over and over and over. I saw the first three episodes and movie in Arkansas, and bought the DVDs for everything as soon as I got back. Even Eva-Diva likes the show, and that's really saying something (she normally does not gravitate towards Sci-Fi, and she feels too far behind on BG to catch up, although I have a plan for that post-wedding).

In other news, we continue the countdown to the big day, and I head to New York/New Jersey this weekend for a series of clinics at William Patterson University and some hang time with another best friend, Dr. Payton MacDonald! Hopefully I'll have some pictures from NYC to post, as we're going to visit some friends in the city. Until then.
