Yes, you know the end of the semester is in sight when the Percussion Ensemble concert is over (and it rocked!). The past few weeks have been insane for everyone around here--concerts, degree recitals (lots of them), comprehensive committees, upcoming recording sessions for a new piece by Ladislav Kubik, etc. Not to mention preparing for the BIG EVENT four weeks from Saturday with Eva-Diva--I can't WAIT! Lots to do between now and then, though. I am especially excited about some graduating students--one is going to Northwestern to work on his MM degree, which in my opinion is the best overall percussion program in the country, and one of my DM students won the Air Force Ceremonial Band job, and I am THRILLED and very proud of both students. We're going to miss them (hence NP's comment about Wrath of Khan--which did happen on the concert, actually).
At any rate, for those in the johnthinksoutloud family (and you four know who you are), I hope to have some more pictures posted soon. This one sums it up, though--if Yoda were here, he'd say, "Best job in the world, I have." More later.
